History of Deuter..

Deuter Has Provided High Quality,Technical
Packs For More Than 110 Years!! 


  • In 1898 Hans Deuter converted the old Compressed Yeast Works in Augsburg, GM into a factory to manufacture sails, sacks and tarpaulins.
  • 1900 Hans Deuter was commissioned to supply the Royal Bavarian Post Office with postage bags and mail sacks.
  • In 1919 luggage and leather goods were added to the company’s product range.
  • 1934 “Tauern” rucksacks proved their worth on an expedition to the Himalayans. In 1953, Mountaineer Hermann Buhl became the first man to conquer Nanga Parbat (8,125m). Deuter provided the rucksacks, bags and tents.
  • 2008 The newly redesigned Futuras and new Futura Pro series are introduced, addressing customer feedback for a better fit from our famous Aircomfort back system. The Futura Pros incorporate the new VariFlex pivoting hip belt for carrying comfort.
  • 2008 New and updated Bike Bags and Rack Packs are introduced.
  • 2010 The Spectro Series, incorporating a new lightweight version of Deuter’s Aircomfort Back System, are introduced.
